Dismissed - Right to written reasons why

07/07/2024
If you are dismissed for any reason, you are legally entitled to written reasons why, from your employer, within 2 weeks of you asking for it.

What if the ex employer just ignores you.

It is a statutory right. If you are not receiving it, you can submit a complaint to the WRC.

I refer to and note: Section 14 (4) of the Unfair Dismissals Act 1977, 'Where an employee is dismissed, the employer if so requested, shall furnish within 14 days, particulars in writing of the grounds for the dismissal'.
